today there was a hurricane. it turned into a tornado.

we are trying  to get a tornado to be seen inside a hurricane. it happens. But they also have differences and usually happen at different places. 

The day of the Chinese New Year Parade

The dance of lions in Chinese New Year comes with a big celebration. It was done in the school of the 16 kids for the celebration. The teachers dressed up in a green towel with one of the heads poking out for the lion. 

Mountain View to Bay View

Today is the day we went to Stevens creek trail scootering. We started all the way at mountain view near El Camino and we went all the way to shoreline park where we get the bay view !

We got four major bridges on the way. I had to go a lot up, and a lot down on each of those. It was tiring but fun. There were a lots of markers, not the writing types but the line markers .

Bridge 1: We went parallel to freeway 85, we could smell the smoke from cars. It is greenhouse gases of course which cause global warming.

Bridge 2: Over the train tracks and central expressway.

Bridge 3: On top of moffett , we could cross it on the traffic light.

And there were a few underground ones, which were dark but not scary.

We started at Yuba Drive and went all the way to the bay. You can find it in the map we posted.

I was on my new scooter and Papa was on his old scooter. Boogie didn't join us because he was taking a nap in his school.

Hummingbirds did a field trip to Stevens Creek last year and I fell in the creek near the Stevens Creek reservoir.
We sent a few stick boats on the creek to the bay and a field trip to the bay area we saw them arriving.

San Francisco high adventure

Today we are spending time in the city of San Francisco.

Morning was ok, by the day time we were in the city, but we did not go upstairs in the apartment of Ashish Mama. Instead we just drove past, saying Hi to him. Nothing else happened that time. Then we went to another city, Sausalito and had the chinese new year festival.

We watched the lion dance, went on the lookout point, went on a rocking boat and other things.

Went to San Francisco again,  and then went over the hills. We wanted to hike, but the hill was too rough. So we went to the topmost point of the hill after we parked the car. We got a nice picture of me with a view of San Francisco, I'll put it here. No, let's put it now, says me :).

Now we are at Ashish Mama's home, and boogie is still doing drama. He is moving a chair and eating a rubber band !!! One of the legs of the chair has a cup...

My big book of boy stuff is back, really I lost the pocket book of boys stuff and found the other one in a book sale !!!

I even found vegetarian burger wasn't vegetarian, and helped the restaurant fix it. We got free dessert as a result :).

Ropia Day

Happy Friday !

On Ropia day lots of Ropians gather in the Atta city theater to watch the Ropian Dance. One of the Atta kings always comes to the theater for the Ropian dance.

He has to wear his night suit because in Ropia they say: If you wear your night suit the spooky halloween night time will come. This is Shreyan, the king of lakenbird performance !

I have a cough and eye problem and also some head itch. I'm going to the doctor this evening and after that once we've picked up Rishab, he'll ask us to watch room on the broom.

Tree hugging against global warming !

I met Papa in after care a week, because Papa had gone to Dallas. We picked Dadi Ma, Boogie and went to Washington Park where we started with scooter play.

These days, every time I go to Washington park, I use their restroom , and our young Rishab does not know good etiquette yet because he looks at private parts :(.

We enjoyed the swings for long time, even saw an angry girl .... not an angry bird :).

Now was the time to do our tree hug against global warming. This tree had no leaves because of global warming :(. I am posting a picture here for all of you to see.

Lion Dance

Today we watched the lion dance.

Shreyans early pickup

I got to have an early pickup. We watched Room on the Broom, then performed dragon part. The witch was on her broom with all 4 animals so that made 5. They kept flying, the frog jumped for joy and the broom snapped in two.  The witch flew into the steam of the dragon which was like a cloud
. Then the fire went into her bums and the dragon tried to swallow her in one gulp. "No", cried the witch and the dragon flew after her. She flew down to the ground, the dragon flew after her breathing out fire. Then when they landed the dragon began his feast and the bog stated bubbling. And then out of the ditch rose a hoooorrrible beast, the mud covered it, it had four frightful heads and wings like a bird and it's terrible voice when it started to speak was a yowl and a growl and a croak and a shriek. It said "buzz off, that's my witch". And the dragon went back and started to shake and spluttered and said "I'm sorry, I made a mistake. It's nice to have met you but now I must fly." Once he flew off, the witch had a half broomstick in the cauldron and the frog got a lily and the cat got a cone, the dog got a bone and the bird got a twig. Then she muttered a spell "iggety ziggety zaggety zoo" then out a rose a truly magnificent broom. Once they were on it, it flew off and the bird in its nest, the frog in its pool, the witch, cat and dog in their seats were all so happy...it had been a good night.
